A Parents Handbook is provided upon request, outlining the Policies and Procedures for each family.
Each child will have an email daily dairy from Blossom in which their keyworker communicates what they have done during their day at nursery, including feeds and nappy changes and photos of them during their day at the setting.
All children have a ‘Learning Journey’ File, which tracks their development and interests through observations and provides families with detailed insight into their child’s progress. Families are encouraged to contribute through observations of their child at home.
‘Parents Evenings’ are arranged twice a year, where individual appointments are offered. This is an opportunity to share some ‘quality time’ with your child’s key worker where questions can be answered and ideas shared. Open mornings are arranged throughout the year where visitors are welcome to share the achievements of the children.

Special Education Needs
The nursery has a designated Additional Learning Needs Co-ordinator (ALNCo), supporting children, families and their keyworkers to ensure children who may have additional needs are receiving suitable support. This may come through activities, equipment or the involvement of specialist agencies. Our ALNCo is Mrs. Catherine Smith.

Child Protection
Little Steps believes children have a right to feel safe at all times. All our staff receive strict police checks, and the senior members of staff are responsible for overseeing the company’s Child Protection Policy.
Emergencies
In the event of an accident, illness, or emergency we will make every effort to contact Parents and Carers listed on the ‘All About Me’ form. If we are unable to contact these carers, staff will act on parent’s behalf and take such action that Little Steps Childcare Centre Ltd consider appropriate to the situation. These may include taking the child from nursery to seek medical attention or contacting outside agencies for assistance.
In this instance staffing, will be maintained by the Nursey Manager & Deputy Manager at all times.
